Ruth 1-4 & Matthew 1
Big Idea: God’s plan of redemption provides me hope in every situation
Biblical Living Hope: a confident expectation for the future anchored in the character of God, promises of God and the power of God
My Hope Comes Through (Ruth 1-4):
1) Recognizing My True Redeemer (Ruth 1-3)
2) Relying On My True Redeemer (Ruth 3-4)
“When the time came to completion, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba! Father!’”
– Galatians 4:4-6 2
Ways To Rely On My True Redeemer:
1) Trust God’s Sovereignty In My Broken Reality
2) Turn To My Redeemer For Liberation From My Devastation
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion – to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.”
– Isaiah 61:1-3
