John 7:1-52
Big Idea: God’s Enduring Faithfulness Provides Me True Life Through His Sustaining Grace
In Response To God’s Enduring Faithfulness:
1) Remember and rejoice (v. 1-36)
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
- John 1:14
As I Experience God’s Faithfulness:
1) Am I feasting or disbelieving? (v. 3-9)
2) Am I feasting or disparaging? (v. 10-13)
3) Am I feasting or doubting? (v. 14-19)
4) Am I feasting or debating? (v. 20-31)
5) Am I feasting or delaying? (v. 32-36)
2) Come and drink (v. 37-39)
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David.”
– Isaiah 55:1-3
3) Believe and receive (v. 37-52)
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.”
- Galatians 6:22-25
