Hope Is Here

John 1:1-18

Big Idea: Jesus Reveals The Grace Of God Through Which We Have Daily Hope In God

“But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.”

– John 20:31

Jesus Is:

1) The Word that gives me life (v. 1-5)

a) “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light’, and there was light. And God saw that the light was good.”
– Genesis 1:1-4a

2) The Light that offers me a forever family (v. 6-13)

“’Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”

– Matthew 7:21-23

“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoptions as sons by whom we cry, ‘Abba Father!’ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs – heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ.”
– Romans 8:15-17a

3) The Revelation that gives me hope (v. 14-18)

My daily sources of hope (John 1:14-18)
1) The presence of God (v. 14)
2) The glory of God (v. 14)
3) The promises of God (v. 17)

“For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him (Jesus). That is why it is through Him that we utter our Amen to God for His glory.”
– 2 Corinthians 1:20

4) The grace of God (v. 14; 16)

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
– 2 Corinthians 12:9
