Nehemiah 6:15-7:73
Big Idea: Who God is to me should generate a heart of worship within me
I Worship Because:
1) God Is My Helper (6:15-7:5)
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.”
– Psalm 46:1-3
“So we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’”
– Hebrews 13:6
Next Steps In Worship:
1) Purify My Worship (6:17-19)
2) Prioritize My Worship (7:1)
3) Persevere In Worship (6:15-16; 7:2)
4) Protect My Worship (7:3-4
2) God Is My Restorer (7:1-73)
“And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ But the father said … 'For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.”
