The mission of Harvest Kids is to glorify God through discipling and equipping children and families.
Parents with young children will be directed to the Harvest Kids Check-In Station upon entry. At the check-in station a Harvest Kids volunteer will help you check-in your kids by collecting some information to help us best serve your children and you will be given a sticker to keep for pickup of your child. Arrive at Harvest by 9:15 AM so you can get your kids checked in, visit the welcome table, and meet some of us before we start worshipping together.
Harvest Annapolis uses the The Gospel Project for Kids which immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Through The Gospel Project® for Kids, kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption.
Three classes with age-appropriate teaching and activities are held for ages 0-2, ages 2-3, and 4 up to 5th grade. All Harvest Kids volunteers have been carefully trained and background checked.
After children are checked-in, they head to their classrooms for warm-up and introductory activities. These activities are designed to introduce the Bible story and get children ready to learn.
Group Worship and Story
Every age group has a chance to worship God each week, with the aim of teaching children how to worship in spirit and in truth. We also believe the Word of God should be taught boldly and correctly. Each week the Bible story and connection to Jesus is presented in both video form and from teachers who open their Bibles and teach with authority, We incorporate all we know about how children learn into how we teach the truth of Scripture.
Follow Up Activities
The remainder of ministry time (between 30-60 minutes depending on the age) is dedicated to a small group experience to follow up on the Bible teaching. For younger children, conversations and activities bring the Bible teaching to life in a hands-on and fun way. As they mature, the small group questions move towards more personal application of the large group teaching. Scripture memorization, prayer and a snack time are also included.
